Biography
During my childhood I always took an interest in art. From drawing to painting to endless hours of acting like something out of cartoon, I have always had some sort of artistic and creative background. Currently I have focused on the digital 2D & 3D realm. Coming from a small under budget high school in the "sticks" of Maine, I would spend most of my hours looking at art, testing tutorials for various programs, searching online forums for knowledge that I couldn't get at school, and hours of drawing and sketching. It wasn't until attending college at the University of Maine that I actually got a chance to use most of these programs. Most recently it has been working in the world of 3D that has grabbed my attention.
Now I am 23 years old and about to graduate the University of Maine with a degree in New Media. I currently work fulltime as a sales rep for Pepsi, and use nights and weekend to do freelance/contract work. While I do most of my work on a computer, I still make time to draw and sketch, paint, and sculpt as well. I recently decided that I wanted to pursue a career in the 3D world. I really enjoy doing the work, and it didn't seem like work at all, instead it seems like a time I can sit down and learn something new. Who says work can't be fun and enjoyable?!
I enjoy doing most everything within the world of 3D, but I am most focused for now in modeling and texturing. I love to draw and create concepts for characters, models, figures, scenery, objects, etc etc. The list goes on and on. Learning is what I'm all about. You can never learn too much.
Currently I work as a sales rep for Pepsi to pay the bills. I do freelance work on the side after work hours and on weekends as well. If you would like to see my work, feel free to check out my Traditional and Digital gallery pages. If you have any comments, feedback, or questions please e-mail me.
I work on two computers, one computer I built a few years ago (my workstation) and a laptop that I just picked up.
Desktop: 2003 AMD Athalon XP 2800+(Barton), GeForce 4 4800TI graphics card, 1024MB DDR400 RAM, 120GB Seagate HD, 9"x12" Wacom Intuos 2 Drawing Tablet and an external Seagate 300GB HD. I run a single 19" CRT Mitsubishi monitor, all inside of an all aluminum Xaser III case with a 450 watt power supply. (Building a new workstation very soon Dual Sli Quadro cards, 2-4 gigs of ram, dual Xenon processors, around a terabyte of space, and a 3 screen monitor setup! Oh and a new Wacom Tablet!)
Laptop: 2006 HP Pavillion DV8000, 2.2 GHZ AMD Turion64 ML-40 Mobile Processor, 1024MB RAM, dual 100GB HD, ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Graphics Card, 9"x12" Wacom Intuos 2 Drawing Tablet with a 17" brightview widescreen LCD.
Hardware: 2003 Nikon coolpix 4300, Wacom Intuos 2, Seagate 300GB storage drive.

While attending the University of Maine I have made many friends and some important contacts as well. I worked for the University of Maine's Marketing Department as one of two interns doing graphic design work. This exposed me to the real world production environment. At the same time I also worked for ASAP Media Services where I was introduced to a more relaxed in house style environment. I worked with layout design, graphic design (both Vector and Rasterized), while being in direct contact with clients, as well as being part of a great plan and critique process with my boss and co-workers. Thank you to all of those that helped me get where I am today. You have all helped me to learn so much.
Aside from those two jobs, I also do some freelance work as well including graphic design, web design, and logo design. I have many hobbies outside of the artistic world including Cycling,Triathlons, Basketball, Soccer, Football, Movies, Cooking, Cars and Car Shows, and Traveling.
I plan on moving out of the state of Maine, somewhere a tad bit warmer and a bit more urban... Texas, Florida, Arizona, California, etc. etc. I am working on making a career out of the skills that I have and trying for an entry level position in the 3D world. My dream is to work for WETA Creations in New Zealand for feature film.
Last I just want to take this time to say thank you to all of you that have helped me through the good and the bad:
- Mom, Dad, and Erika for supporting me with all I have ever wanted to do.
- Kiel Figgins for taking your time out of your crazy schedule to work with me.
- Mike Scott for always pushing me for better ideas and showing me that nothing is impossible.
- Stephen Porter for starting me out in 3D.
- All my friends from U-Maine that stood by me and helped me out.
