Oil Painting Field Study -     June - 17 - 2006

This is an oil painting study for class. My fourth oil painting. My main goal here was to Capture depth and the mood of the landscape. I have found I tend to work better in layers by letting part of a layer dry then working the wet paint into the semi dry paint. I also learned a couple new ways to use certain brushes for things such as the clouds. Water is still giving me a bit of trouble. I still find it frightening to throw paint onto the foreground area so this one is on hold until I am a bit more comfortable with the paint and a bit more confident in my ability to lay the paint down.
